Rare THC-V expression in this specific reverse cross. THC-V (tetrahydrocannabivarin) is uncommon in most modern Kush/OG hybrids, but this cross has a realistic 10–20 % chance of throwing elevated THC-V phenos — and the chocolate keepers are the most likely to show it.

Where the THC-V is coming from genetically:

Durban Poison (25 % of the seeds) Pure African landrace sativas from Durban are one of the very few known reliable sources of natural THC-V synthase genes. Old-school Durban cuts regularly tested 1–4 % THC-V in the 1970s–1990s before everything got bred for max THC.

SS – the unknown German hybrid (25 %). If SS has any old Dutch “Thai” or African sativa in its background (very common in 1980s–1990s German breeding), it can stack with the Durban and push THC-V higher.

The rest of Beerus (all the OG/Kosher/NL5/Skunk) is basically THC-V null — so the only plants that show it are the ones that strongly express the Durban side.

% Frequency of Phenotypes that boast THC-V:

Pure Durban leaner (#4) 5–8 % Population

Highest THC-V, lower total THC (18–22 %), speedy, appetite-suppressant high

Chocolate Durban (#1) – The Keepers 8–12 % Population
Still smells like hot chocolate but adds a clean, focused, almost stimulant edge

Midnight Cocoa Kush (#5) 3–5 % Population

Rare “night-time chocolate” that doesn’t knock you out – very medical

All others (OG Lemon Cookie, Skunky Old Lady) 80 %+ Population

Normal THC-V trace or zero

How to spot the THC-V plants while growing?

Slightly thinner, more serrated fan leaves (classic Durban trait). Faster, more energetic high when sampled early. Lower bud density but insane frost and smell. Lab test at day 50+ during flower as THC-V peaks late, unlike THC. If you pop 20–50 seeds of this reverse, expect 2–6 females with legitimately elevated THC-V (0.8–3.8 %), and the best chocolate ones are usually the ones that carry it. That combo — real dark-chocolate nose + THC-V speed — is why a handful of testers call the top keeper “the African hot-chocolate rocket.” Extremely rare profile.
